Final Task: Music

Image
Today my group and I had a different approach and strategy. Instead of working together in person we decided to change it up. We all made and joined a call so that we could still communicate. Our goal was picking out a song. Although this might seem like a fairly simple task, it's not. We can not just steal the song and there is actually lots of things you must do before. There are options of not using copy righted music, but none of them really fit what we were looking for. We found a couple songs we liked, and completed the first step on our plan. The next couple steps were the actual hard steps. We contacted the owners of the songs. We wrote a very professional email and also explained the purpose for us using their song. I feel like this might take a while to get a response. We thought of this in advance and asked multiple producers. Whether they be extremely famous or not. We also had an extra back up plan. That plan was to have a non copy righted sound just in case. Although

Final task: editing

Today was another accomplished day Today was the day me and my group decided to begin editing the film. Editing is a very long part of the project. It is arguably the hardest part of them all. Editing can easily make or break the impact of the film. The weather outside was very nice so we decided to begin editing while sitting outside. It was not to hot in he beginning so we were getting lots of work done. As time went past and we picked out the best shot for each scene, it got hotter. All the clouds in the sky went away so we were forced inside. The group and I were prepared coming into this editing day. We in advance picked out all of our ideal shots for each scene. Doing this saved us ample time, but did not help in all situations. When putting the shots together some of the backup scenes helped the film flow better. We used the app cap cut. It is on both phone and computer and the people in my group are familiar with it. I have also used it a couple times in the past. After hours

Final task: Fliming

Today was our first official day of filming . It was very productive and we got a lot done. It was very easy to get everyone together. There is currently no school so making plans was no hard. Todays weather was not ideal. It continued to rain and thunderstorm but this did not effect us. The majority of our film is taken inside a house. The location is very open and has a lot of windows. If it was a sunny day it would have a huge effect on the film. I feel that the thunderstorm was in our benefit. Considering our film is sci- fi the thunderstorm helped add to eerie effect we were looking for. Our actors did really good today. I did all of my parts good on the first try. Even though I did good I needed to get at least 3 shots so we don’t have to come back. In the past it screwed me over when we had very little shots of each scene. I would be editing then realized that I did not have enough videos to creat my project. This time we made sure not to make that mistake. After filing all of

Final Task-Backup

Image
Today was a bad overall day. We had plans to finally record and start the filming side of the final task. Instead, we had to have a change plans. We are all on our school's football team and there was a meeting. This meeting would be occurring at the same time that we were supposed to film. These change of plans through us for a loop. Luckily we had backup plans. Our backup was to film next week. We are on spring break and don't have school. This will make it easy fir us to make plans to meet each other and film. Instead I individually researched more about sounds. I was researching sounds that would sound futuristic and intriguing. Thankfully I found this super interesting website with tons of information. They have endless sounds and uncopyrighted music. The only problem is that you need a subscription for the website. This subscription cost money that I don't have. I will continue to search for free sounds.

Final task: Sound

Image
After getting a bit of filming done today we wanted to decide on some sounds. To make a good movie music and sound are key. Thankfully I did lots of research and had good stuff to share with the group. My other partners also brought good ideas. We decided that in the beginning we will do some eerie music. We all like the effect eerie music has on a movie. Therefore we will start off with eerie music but we wanted to be different. Furthermore halfway through it will switch. It will turn into robotic like futuristic music. This sounds strange but really has a good effect on the final outcome. After deciding the sounds we decided that filming more was a good next step. We did not film in chronological order. Instead we filmed all of the group scenes first. We did this because we don’t know if we could always all be able to record together. Filming these parts were very hard and took many tries. Even after we thought we had a good take care e tried for at least 2 more. Getting the hardest

Final Task-The Clock is Ticking

Image
Day 1 of filming has begun. I am extremely eager to embark on my filming journey. For this film, I will be in the actual movie. For the last 2 pervious projects I filmed and edited. My group and I have set super high expectations for this project. We want to push ourselves to be the best group. Luckily we were smart this time and have set our self times to do everything. Filming is getting really close and needs to be perfected so we can maximize our time together. Fortunately, Luke, me and Zane are really good actors and perfect the scene first time. The thing that bothers me the most is going be the fact of our editing. Our genre is sci-fi so making it seem futuristic is super hard. I understand that without a good looking futuristic feel these movies can look very awful. Luke Hamill is a great editor. He knows lots of tricks to make things like that look how we need it to be. Another possible struggle is the title sequence. We have really unique ideas that are way easier send then d
